Historic Preservation aims to identify historic places, spaces, and other types of cultural heritage that are important to the community and worthy of protecting for future generations.
In 2020–2021, the City of Corpus Christi developed a new Historic Preservation Plan to guide its identification of places and spaces that the community values and wishes to protect for future generations. Previous City preservation plans were published in 1976 and 1992.

The City of Corpus Christi adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.69 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $16.87.
