Public Information Requests
The Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552), gives you the right to access government records.
All government information is presumed to be available to the public, although certain exceptions may apply. Governmental bodies shall release requested information as promptly as possible unless the information is exempt from disclosure under the Public Information Act.
To request a record or document from the City of Corpus Christi that is not available online, first select the type of request, linked below.
What is the cost of information?
Charges for your public information request may vary depending upon the number of responsive documents and personnel time required to process your request.
Generally, the City will charge $0.10 per page and $15 per hour for labor depending on the number of pages to be produced plus an overhead charge of 20% of the labor charge.
If the charges exceed $40.00, the City will provide you with a written, itemized statement of the estimated charges. If the charges exceed $100.00, the City will provide you with the same statement of estimated charges, but, to process your request, the City may require a bond/deposit.
For more information on allowable charges, please see the Texas Attorney General's website.
