In November 2000 voters approved the allocation of sales tax to fund two projects.
- Project #1 – Construction of the American Bank Center Arena
- Project #2 – Major Improvements to the Downtown Seawall
Both projects have been completed and the voters are being asked to approve the sales tax for two new projects.
On August 13, 2024, City Council approved two reauthorization purposes of the sales tax to be presented to voters in November.

Bond 2024 & Sales Tax Reauthorization
The City of Corpus Christi adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.69 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $16.87.
