Many people enjoy biking, running, jogging, and walking along the shoreline. To increase physical activity and promote a healthier Corpus Christi, City Manager Peter Zanoni has created a new health and wellness initiative to take place along the Corpus Christi Bayfront on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront kicked off on June 6, 2020. Safe Fun-Fit at the Bayfront is going strong, with 2024 marking the fourth year!
The Fitness Lane spans 1.5 miles for residents to bike, run, jog, and walk along the Bayfront. The route begins along the seawall at The Water’s Edge, northbound, towards the American Bank Center, with the turnaround just before the barge dock entrance.
Classes are offered on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. through a partnership with VFit Productions, a local company devoted to promoting a healthy lifestyle, and the City's Parks & Recreation Department. The City is also proud to announce our community partnership with H-E-B, which will provide fruit and water. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sunblock, yoga mat, and water, as appropriate, for their workout. Exercise and wellness events are held on Saturdays at The Water’s Edge (402 S. Shoreline Boulevard). Pre-registration is required. This free program is for all skill levels, ages 8 and older. Youth ages 8 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Mark your calendar for the exciting ENDURANCE FEST 2025 on June 6–8 at The Water's Edge. Featured events will include a 2-mile Walk, 5K, 10K, 25K, Half Marathon, Half Marathon Relay, and On The Edge Tour. Festivities will also include a health fair, live music and DJ, food trucks, and giveaways.
