Captain Homer Sierra joined the ranks of the Corpus Christi Fire Department in 2003. Captain Sierra spent 19 years in the field and was promoted to Captain in 2015. He is currently assigned to the Corpus Christ Fire Department Training Division and serves as Fire Academy Supervisor and Instructor. He supervises Cadets and liaises with Del Mar College throughout Fire Academy Training. Captain Sierra holds certifications, as a Master Structural Firefighter, Driver /Operator, Driver/Operator-Aerial, Fire Officer II, Instructor II, Basic Wildland Firefighter, former SWAT medic with the Corpus Christi Police Department, as well as a Paramedic. He is currently working on his associate degree in Fire Science. He has 2 sons.
Captain Angela Williams currently serves as the Fire Academy and Training Coordinator. She holds a Master certification as a Firefighter, Arson and Fire Investigator, Inspector, Airport Firefighter, and Instructor III with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and is a Licensed Paramedic. Captain Williams also serves as one of the departments certified Police Officers, Arson Investigators, and Incident Safety Officers. Captain Williams holds an Associate Degree from Del Mar College in Fire Science. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and two Master’s Degree in Criminology and Sociology from Texas A & M University-Kingsville. She has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since July of 1986 and was promoted to Captain in January of 1997 and laterally transferred to the Training Division in 2011. Captain Williams has three children.
Captain Gerry Garcia has been a member of the CCFD since August 1998. He currently has 19 years of firefighting and EMS experience. Capt. Garcia was promoted to the rank of Captain in February of 2011 where he served as a training captain and station captain at various duty stations. He holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science. Capt. Garcia is a certified Fire Instructor II, Hazmat Technician and Commander, Driver and Fire Officer I, He continues to maintain his Paramedic certification. He was reassigned to the Training Division in 2017 and currently serves as Building Maintenance Supervisor. He is married with 2 children.
Chris Grote has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since 1988. He was promoted to his current rank of Firefighter II EMS in 1993. Firefighter Grote is a Texas Department of State Health Services Certified Paramedic and Paramedic instructor and is certified as a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter, Fire Instructor III, and Fire Inspector. He is also a TCFP Field Examiner. He holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services Technology. He is an Adjunct Faculty member in the EMS continuing education department at Victoria College, and has taught with the Halo Flight EMS education department. He is a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department ALERT team, as well as holding certification as a tactical medic. He was officially assigned to the CCFD Training Division in 2000. He has taught extensively in EMS in the South Texas region for many years and holds certification and instructor rating in many of the EMS “card courses.” He has been selected as “Firefighter of the Year” and was selected as the 2008 Texas Association of Fire Educators George M. Hughes award winner for Fire Service Instructor of the Year. He is married and has one step-daughter.
Mike Stuive has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since 1998. He has been assigned to the Training Division since March of 2010. He has lead responsibility for the physical training of the cadets during fire academies. He serves as one of the departments Arson Investigators. Mike is a certified Paramedic, Police Officer, Advanced Firefighter, and Field Examiner. Mike holds two Associate of Applied Science Degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services Technology from Del Mar College. Mike has been awarded the Corpus Christi Fire Department Medal of Valor and Fire House Magazine Heroism Award. He is an Adjunct Instructor at Del Mar College. He is married and has three daughters.
