Importance of Compliance in Corpus Christi

Compliance is crucial in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors at the City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) parks and facilities. Rules and ordinances are in place to address safety concerns and maintain a welcoming environment.

Common Codes Addressed by Compliance

Park Compliance Officers are dedicated to enforcing City ordinances at PARD facilities. They address infractions such as driving or parking on grass, littering, unsafe practices, and violation of camping ordinances. Additionally, officers handle issues related to illicit drug activity, suspicious persons, and disturbances.

Dynamic Nature of the Team

The Park Compliance team consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds, allowing them to relate to a variety of demographics while upholding rules and order. Officers patrol all 197 City parks and adjacent PARD facilities, facing different challenges each day. Despite the changing nature of their work, officers strive to build positive relationships with the community and make a meaningful impact.

Ambassadors to the Community

Park Compliance Officers act as ambassadors for the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department, serving as a source of information, safety, security, and goodwill for visitors. They are available to assist anyone in need, whether they are out-of-town guests or residents. Officers provide directions, answer questions, and offer immediate support during emergencies, demonstrating a commitment to serving and representing the City of Corpus Christi.
