EOC stands for Emergency Operations Center. Day-to-day operations are conducted from departments and agencies that are widely dispersed throughout the City. When a major emergency or disaster strikes, centralized emergency management is needed. This facilitates a coordinated response by the City Manager, Office of Emergency Management (OEM) staff and representatives from City and non-City organizations who are assigned specific emergency management responsibilities. Ready Corpus Christi, also called ReadyCC, is the OEM's resource center for emergency preparedness.
The City of Corpus Christi adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year's tax rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 4.69 percent and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $16.87.
