Councilmember, District 4, Dan Suckley

BIOGRAPHY

Dan Suckley was born in Ohio and grew to the age of 16 in Michigan. Dan moved to Corpus Christi in 1983 and is a 1985 Honors Graduate from Flour Bluff High School. Dan graduated from Texas A&M- Corpus Christi with a B.B.A. in Accounting. Dan is a current resident of Flour Bluff and former long-time resident of Padre Island.

Dan’s family includes his wife, Rosanne, of 27 years, who coincidentally he met his first day of work at American Bank. Rosanne has worked there as well for more than 34 years. Dan has two children, one son and one daughter, who are both Flour Bluff High School graduates. Brendan is 23 years old and a recent graduate from Rice University where he graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and played football for four years.  He is now at Texas A&M- College Station where he is graduating May 2023 with an accelerated Masters degree in Business. Dan’s daughter Elyse is 22 years old and is a senior at Texas A&M- Corpus Christi. She is majoring in Marketing. She is currently working for BucDays and additionally has been a server at Doc’s for the past three years.

Dan is a Senior Lending Officer at American Bank where he has been employed for more than 31 years.

  • Visit Corpus Christi (Convention & Visitor’s Bureau)- 2018 to current as a board member and former Chair.
  • Flour Bluff I.S.D. School Board Trustee- 2007-2016
  • Padre Island Business Association- Board Member
  • Big Brother Big Sisters- Board Member and Chair
  • American Cancer Society- Board Member
  • South Texas Consumer Education Foundation- Board Member
  • Corpus Christi Community Improvement Corporation- Loan Review Committee
  • The Robert and Janis Birchall Foundation- Board Member
  • Have assisted the Flour Bluff Athletic Department with fundraising for many years, including obtaining a $15,000 grant to obtain additional equipment for the football team.
