The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers located throughout the city which offer programs for youth ages 6-16. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.

Haunted House + Carnival Games

Come in for a scary good time...if you dare! Enter the haunted house of horrors to get your heart racing to celebrate Halloween as it should be. We invite everyone to come in costume and show us your scary or fun side. It will be a thriller for sure. On the last day, October 28, there will also be carnival games for everyone to enjoy. SCHOOL-YEAR SEASON PROGRAMS

 

After School Program - FREE!

Youth ages 6-16 have the opportunity to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, games, and much more at our four recreation centers. Micro-Soccer Co-ed Youth League

This is a 6-week program held in the spring and fall for children ages 4-6 that is specially designed with a modified field and goals. Games are played on Saturdays. SUMMER PROGRAMS

 

S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Programs and Recreation for Kids) - FREE!

Every summer during mid-June to early August, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers this program for ages of 6-16. Recreation activities such as arts and crafts, tournaments, board games, indoor and outdoor play, guest speakers, and other activities are offered at all four recreation centers and the Ben Garza Gym throughout the summer. FREE lunch and snack will be provided for youth who participate. This is an open campus recreation program provided in a generally supervised environment for registered participants. Space is limited and all youth must be registered. All children attending the program must be accompanied each day by an adult to ensure space is still available on any given day.

Summer Food Service Program - FREE!

Every summer, during mid-June to early August, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department sponsors the “Lunch’s On Us!” Summer Food Service Program. Lunch and afternoon snacks are provided FREE of charge for all youth ages 1-18 at several locations throughout the city. Lunch is served from 11:30am–1pm and an afternoon snack from 2:30pm–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. For the list of participating sites and more information, call the Summer Food Hotline at (361) 826-3467.

CAMPS & CLASSES

 

Camps

Youth with different interests have the opportunity to participate in camps with a variety of activities. These camps are designed to instill sportsmanship, build coordination, foster friendships and engage youth in new and exciting experiences. Please check back to this page periodically for updates.

Classes

Our recreational facilities offer various classes for both youth and adults at affordable rates. Classes include martial arts, fitness, dance, and much more. For current class availability, or to register, please visit our online registration page.

SPECIAL EVENTS & PROGRAMS

 

All City recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances and holiday celebrations. Events may include movies in the park, community trash clean ups, gardening clubs, cooking demonstrations, and health awareness.

RENTALS

Celebrate your special occasions at our recreation centers. You have several options with four centers located throughout the city. Book your next birthday and graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and other special events with us.
