The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department operates four recreation centers throughout the city, offering programs for youth ages 6 to 16. We are dedicated to promoting character development, leadership, education, and healthy living through our many fun and exciting activities and programs.

SPARK Week Camp October 14–18

This recreation program, for youth ages 6 to 16, will be offered from Monday to Friday, October 14 to October 18, at the Lindale Recreation Center, 3133 Swantner Drive. Two sessions will be available to select from as follows: a morning session from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and an afternoon session from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A morning and afternoon snack will be provided each day. Participants must bring lunch. Sign up for one or both sessions. The registration fee is only $30 per child per session for the week. Online registration is open now and will remain open until filled. Trunk or Treat on October 17

Join us on Thursday, October 17, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at McCaughan Park, located at The Water's Edge, 402 S. Shoreline Boulevard, for a festive holiday celebration. Parks & Recreation staff will distribute treats alongside various community partners in front of Halloween-themed vehicles. The event will feature trick-or-treating, candy, prizes, and enjoyable activities for families. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes to help celebrate this beloved holiday, though participation is optional. Registration is not required.

PLaY: Discovery Dojo on November 9

Free Admission

Join us for this fun STEAM indoor event on Saturday, November 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Ethel Eyerly Senior Center, 654 Graham Road. Bring the family and enjoy hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations!

We'll be joined by amazing organizations like the Corpus Christi Fire Department, TAMU-CC Chemistry Club, Junior League of Corpus Christi-ROCKETS, Chuck Blend-Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History, and more! Don't miss out on the excitement and discovery.

SCHOOL-YEAR SEASON PROGRAMS

 

After School Program - FREE!

This is an open campus afterschool program for youth ages 6 to 16, which operates in conjunction with the Corpus Christi ISD schedule from August 12, 2024, through May 23, 2025, (closed on holidays) from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the four recreation centers: Joe Garza, Lindale, Oak Park, and Oso. Our program allows youth to engage in special programs, homework tutorials, arts and crafts, sports, games, nutrition, and more. It offers general supervision for the children. A free afternoon snack will be provided daily at all sites. Space is limited. After School Snack Program - FREE!

All recreation centers will provide an afternoon snack daily. Please contact the site director if your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies. An alternate snack may be provided with a signed authorization letter from a physician. If the parent provides the snack, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is not responsible for meeting the child's daily nutritional needs. The City is an equal opportunity provider.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

"S.P.A.R.K."

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers S.P.A.R.K. (Summer Program and Recreation for Kids) for youth ages 6 to 16 from June to July each summer. Morning and afternoon sessions are available to select from. A snack will be provided during each session. Recreation activities include playing billiards, foosball, air hockey, arcade games, arts and crafts, outdoor sports, field trips, guest speakers, and other activities offered at participating recreation centers throughout the summer. This open campus recreation program is provided in a generally supervised environment for registered participants. Each child must be signed in and out by an adult each day. The registration fee is only $25 per child for each weekly session. Space is limited, and all youth must be registered. For more information, please call (361) 826-3472. SPECIAL EVENTS & PROGRAMS

 

All City recreation centers host special events throughout the year, such as dances and holiday celebrations. Events may include movies in the park, community trash cleanups, gardening clubs, cooking demonstrations, and health awareness. Stay tuned for pop-up curbside events. Camps

Youth with different interests have the opportunity to participate in camps and in a variety of activities. These camps are designed to instill sportsmanship, build coordination, foster friendships, and engage youth in exciting new experiences. Please check back to this page periodically for updates.

RENTALS


Celebrate your special occasions at our recreation centers. You have several options with four centers located throughout the city. Book your next birthday and graduation parties, bridal and baby showers, family reunions and other special events with us. A rental includes the use of the social hall, game room and kitchen, along with tables and chairs.
