DID YOU KNOW?
Birdiest Cities
Read the Texas Parks & Wildlife article, which features Blucher Park, Hans & Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge, Oso Bay Park and Basemore Park. Corpus Christi ranked overall "Birdiest City" for the past 10 consecutive years, counting 216 species of birds during the national competition in 2012!
The Adopt-a-Park program is a meaningful way for businesses, groups and volunteers to showcase their commitment to the community. In effort to herald this pledge and promote further adoptions, the Department will provide a sign at each adopted park acknowledging a group's contribution and commitment. The first step towards adopting a park is completing the Application. If you're uncertain about the area or park you would like to adopt, review the list of parks in the upper right column. Once you have selected a park and completed the application, submit a copy to Becky Perrin, Program Services Superintendent, at beckyp@cctexas.com , and the process towards adopting a park will begin thereafter.

BIKE & HIKE PLAN
The City, County and the Regional Transportation Authority have teamed up to create an extensive plan to provide access to cycling, walking, hiking trails. These amenities are designed for both residents and visitors to enjoy. The vision/goal is to create more livable communities—communities where people get out to enjoy outdoor recreation as well as promote a more "green" environment.
Some portions of the plan are completed. View or download the Corpus Christi MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and information about the Corpus Christi Bay Trail. | The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing 2,100 acres of developed and undeveloped open spaces (parks, City beaches, natural habitats, etc.) and facilities (recreation centers, pools, gyms, ball fields, senior centers, tennis and golf courses, etc.) to enrich the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
PARKS

Surveys indicate that parks are very important to residents and visitors—they enrich the quality of life and are a critical factor which impacts our city's economic development. 2012 Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Master Plan
This new master plan will serve to guide future park and recreation improvements and operations.
» The plan was developed with the input from Corpus Christi residents obtained through a series of public meetings and an online survey.
» Residents shared their ideas and feelings about their parks, trails, recreation facilities and programs. This contribution was a vital component in the process to develop a plan that will serve our hopes and vision for our city.
