The Marina Department has been in operation since 1940 when the marina T-Heads were originally completed. Since the marina's inception, vast improvements have been necessary to meet modern vessel requirements including commercial opportunities, which have created an iconic waterfront attraction accommodating thousands of visitors year-round to the Marina Arts and Sea District offering centrally located beaches within walking distance. Various downtown Festivals, Parades, Rallies, July 4th Fireworks, Boat Show, Power Boat Races, World Class Sailing Regattas including fresh Seafood Sales directly off fishing boats create an extremely busy waterfront with a lively ambiance delighting thousands of visitors year-round.
The Corpus Christi Marina has 653 modern state of the art floating boat slip docks accommodating vessel sizes 14’ to 200’. The marina offers modern clean and serviceable amenities with air conditioned restrooms/showers, meeting rooms, laundry areas, marine library, satellite TV including Free Wi-Fi throughout the entire area plus boat ramps, fuel station, contaminated bilge water pumpout and free ice for marina tenants. The Marina Patrol staff operate 24/7/365 ensuring secure and safe dockage, accommodating boaters needs, inspection of docks, moorings, onsite property of recreational and commercial customers including the three restaurants, two yacht clubs plus fishing boat seafood sales. The Marina Patrol respond to water emergencies/search rescue missions working in conjunction with Local, State and Federal authorities including the Texas Clean Marina Program and the Marina Association of Texas. Our Marina at all times implement the Best Management Practices.
An exciting new enhancement to the Marina is the addition of four state-of-the-art floating piers designed especially for the Marina.

Peter Michael Davidson, Marina Superintendent
Peter Michael Davidson is the Superintendent of the Corpus Christi Municipal Marina for the past 19 years. Peter has procured more than eleven million dollars in various Federal and State grants and recently oversaw the construction of a several large marina upgrades which included two large modern Boat Ramps, several state of the art modern Floating Docks with more 300 Boat Slips for vessels from 30’ to 150’ all with holding tank pump-outs, Two large Boater Facility Restroom complexes with air condition modern clean and serviceable amenities, restrooms/showers, meeting rooms, laundry areas, marine library, satellite TV and Free Wi-Fi throughout entire marina complex. Peter is past president of the Marina Association of Texas and has served on the Federal Marine Advisory Committee for the Clean Vessel Act.
Peter, a Certified Marine Surveyor who specialized in boating accident reconstruction and worked as a sailmaker and rigger for more than 20 years prior to joining the City of Corpus Christi.
