Assistant Fire Chief Jose L. Gonzalez
Assistant Fire Chief Jose L. Gonzalez has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since 1988. He has promoted through the ranks from Firefighter to Firefighter II-EMS, Captain and Battalion Chief. He is currently an Assistant Chief. He has been assigned to various disciplines throughout his career including Chief of the Special Services Division, Battalion Chief, EMS Supervisor, Fire and Haz-Mat Captain and currently is the Assistant Chief over Training. Chief Gonzalez held a Paramedic certification for 20 years and is currently a certified EMT-B. He holds certifications as an Advanced Firefighter and Fire Instructor with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Assistant Fire Chief Gonzalez and his staff of 3 Captains and 2 Firefighter II EMS personnel are responsible for all aspects of Training, Safety, and Facility Management/Bond Projects.
Captain Michael Tressider

Captain Michael Tressider currently serves as the Fire Academy Supervisor and as a lead Fire and Emergency Medical Services Instructor. Captain Tressider holds a Master certification as a Firefighter, Arson and Fire Investigator, Inspector, Airport Firefighter, and Instructor III with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and is a National Registered, Critical Care, Tactical and Texas Licensed Paramedic. He also serves as one of the departments certified Police Officers, Arson Investigators and Incident Safety Officers. Captain Tressider holds five Associate Degrees from Del Mar College in Fire Science (2), Criminal Justice, Emergency Medical Services and Registered Nursing. He is currently completing a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and will start the Masters Degree for Family Practice-Nurse Practitioner at Texas A & M University-Corpus Christi in the fall of 2015. Captain Tressider has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since July of 1990, promoted to Captain in January of 2000 and was assigned to the Training Division in 2007. He has served in nearly all divisions of the department. He was awarded two lifesaving commendations and the department’s Medal of Valor for rescuing two teens from an automobile entrapment fire. Captain Tressider is an Adjunct Instructor for Del Mar and Victoria College. He is married and has three daughters.
Captain Angela Williams

Captain Angela Williams currently serves as the Fire Academy and Training Coordinator. She holds a Master certification as a Firefighter, Arson and Fire Investigator, Inspector, Airport Firefighter, and Instructor III with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection and is a Licensed Paramedic. Captain Williams also serves as one of the departments certified Police Officers, Arson Investigators and Incident Safety Officers. Captain Williams holds an Associate Degree from Del Mar College in Fire Science. She is currently completing a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University. She has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since July of 1986, and was promoted to Captain in January of 1997 and laterally transferred to the Training Division in 2011. Captain Williams has three children.
Captain Alex Blanco
Captain Alex Blanco has been a member of the CCFD since September of 1984. He currently has 28 years of firefighting and EMS experience. Capt. Blanco was promoted to the rank of Captain in June of 2000 where he served as station captain at various duty stations. He holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He also is a graduate of The National Fire Academy in Hazardous Materials Site Operations and is a certified Haz-Mat Technician. Capt. Blanco is a certified Fire Instructor and continues to maintain his Emergency Medical Technician certification. He was assigned to the Training Division in January 2013 and also serves as Building Maintenance Captain. He is married with two children.
Firefighter II Chris Grote

Chris Grote has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since 1988. He was promoted to his current rank of Firefighter II EMS in 1993. Firefighter Grote is a Texas Department of State Health Services Certified Paramedic and is certified as a Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter, Fire Instructor III, and Fire Inspector. He is also a TCFP Field Examiner. He holds an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services Technology. Firefighter Grote’s primary responsibility is as an academy instructor in both the EMS and fire training programs. He is a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department ALERT team, as well as holding certification as a tactical medic. He was officially assigned to the CCFD Training Division in 2000. He has taught extensively in EMS in the south Texas region for many years, and holds certification and instructor rating in many of the EMS “card courses.” He has been selected as “Firefighter of the Year”, and was selected as the 2008 Texas Association of Fire Educators George M. Hughes award winner for Fire Service Instructor of the Year.

Mike Stuive has been a member of the Corpus Christi Fire Department since 1998. He has been assigned to the Training Division since March of 2010. He has lead responsibility for physical training of the cadets during fire academies. He serves as one of the departments Arson Investigators. Mike is a certified Paramedic, Police Officer, Advanced Firefighter, and Field Examiner. Mike holds two Associate in Applied Science Degrees in Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services Technology from Del Mar College. Mike has been awarded the Corpus Christi Fire Department Medal of Valor and Fire House Magazine Heroism Award. He is an Adjunct Instructor for Del Mar College. He is married and has three daughters.
