Garbage— weekly curbside service—Green Cart
Includes food waste, packaging, non-recyclable products found in your home. Be sure and check this year's Official City Holiday Schedule for any changes in your collection day.
Yard Waste—weekly curbside service— Green Cart
Includes grass clippings, weeds, leaves, mulch, small shrubs, limbs or other similar items. Consider leaving grass clippings on the lawn. It's a great way to fertilize, to reduce watering, and save space in the City landfill! Take extra care to prevent loose glass clippings from entering the gutters, storm drains, and street. Recycling— every other week, curbside service— Blue Cart
Includes materials that can be reused (recycled) in new products. These include certain paper, metals and plastics. Get more information on Recycling.
Heavy Brush– curbside service on a published schedule
Includes tree and shrub limbs and trimmings, which are greater than three inches in diameter, tree trunks, root balls, untreated lumber, and other similar items. Set-out of heavy brush, light brush, bulky items, etc. for collection must not be earlier than two weeks prior to scheduled collection days. Residents in non-compliance may be cited and subject to fines. The location of brush crews runs daily on the Solid Waste Services home page. Bulky Items - curbside service on a published schedule
Includes indoor/outdoor furniture, treated lumber, construction materials (excluding concrete and bricks), mattresses and box springs, carpet, swing sets, plastic swimming pools, large toys, bicycles, fish aquariums, and large household appliances. Bulky items such as furniture and appliances will be collected at curbside only twice-a-year without charge during the Spring and Fall. Self-Service and Special Events
Waste Disposal Self-Service—The Citizens Collection Center at the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station, 7001 Ayers, is open Monday-Saturday from 8am-5pm for public disposal of garbage, yard waste, heavy brush, recyclables, bulky items and household hazardous wastes. Customers can dispose of tires for a fee. Get more information on the Citizens Collection Center.
Household Hazardous Waste - may include certain paints, cleaners, stains and varnishes, motor oil, and pesticides. Household Hazardous Waste disposal is offered free of charge to Corpus Christi residents at the Citizens Collection Center at the J.C. Elliott Transfer Station. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Get more information about Household Hazardous Wastes..
Special Collection Events—Throughout the year, Solid Waste Services holds collection and disposal events, such as glass recycling, discounts on compost bins and e-recycling for old computers and electronics. Information about events will be posted on the Solid Waste Services home page and on the City's Facebook and Twitter pages.
Litter Critter - Customers also can apply to use a special truck for neighborhood cleanups. Get more information on the Litter Critter Program.
