Corpus Christi has ranked overall "Birdiest City" for the past 10 consecutive years, counting 216 species of birds during the national competition in 2012!

Mayor's Fitness Council

Two GREEN THUMBS UP for 12 Winners!

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation has announced the 12 recipients of the Mayor’s Fitness Council Community Garden Grants. Checks will be presented to the winners at the council’s regular meeting on March 14, 2013 at noon at City Hall.  Read more.

2013 Arts Grant Program Award Recipients Announced.

Congratulations to the local arts organizations which were selected by the City of Corpus Christi’s Arts & Cultural Commission members to receive a total of $146,065 in grant funding for the 14 projects.  more info

 

 

Having a great time at Latchkey

Latchkey After School Program (School Year 2012–2013)

Latchkey After School will run from August 2012–June 2013, in conjunction with each school districts' schedules. ONLINE REGISTRATION will be ongoing throughout the school year, pending space availability.

Latchkey's Summer Camps 2013 will be offered during June–August at several camp sites. This is our premier camp for youth ages 5-13. The program is designed for your child to develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends and discover new interests. It offers a variety of activities such as swimming, tennis, arts and crafts, guest speakers and field trips. Games of Texas

Corpus Christi will host the TAAF Summer 2013 Games of Texas

During July 26–29, 2012 Games of Texas, over 8,000 amateur, recreational, and young Olympic hopeful athletes competed in 12 sports categories.

Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The Master Plan was adopted October 9, 2012. Residents shared their ideas and feelings about their parks, trails, recreation facilities and programs. This contribution was a vital component in the process to develop a strategic plan that will serve our vision for our city. View the Master Plan.
