Sister City Program
The Sister City Committee is an official program of the City of Corpus Christi. The goal of the Sister City Program is to involve both the public and private sector in furthering cultural development and global understanding among countries. Corpus Christi is a member of Sister Cities International, a program that was established in 1956 by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The City has established affiliations with six cities: Agen, France; Toledo, Spain; Yokosuka, Japan; Keelung, Taiwan; Veracruz, Mexico; Monterrey, Mexico, and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
Students who are juniors in high school and reside in the City of Corpus Christi are eligible to become student ambassadors and travel to our affiliate sister cities. Each year, Corpus Christi's high schools are invited to recommend two or more of their students to the Sister City Committee. The Committee appoints the ambassadors from the school candidates.
The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department serves as liaison for this committee. View or download the Sister City Committee Presentation.
