Report Fraud, Waste or Abuse

 

The City of Corpus Christi is committed to deterring fraud and maintaining an ethical environment.  

The City Auditor’s Office has established several methods by which to report fraud, waste, or abuse within the City.

A Fraud Hotline has been established and is intended to field concerns regarding integrity violations by city employees and contractors.

 

Integrity violations can include, but are not limited to:

  • Theft or misappropriation of City resources
  • Falsification of official documents or reports
  • Corruption or official misconduct, including misuse of City information, conflicts of interest, or offering or accepting of bribes
  • Personal use of City-owned vehicles, equipment or supplies
  • Improper use or spending of City tax dollars
  • Violations of City procurement policy or contract fraud

 

Our office may collaborate with the Human Resource Department whenever necessary; however, we do not investigate routine personnel issues such as employee grievances or complaints relating to civil rights and equal employment.

Our office may also work with the Corpus Christi Police Department, the Nueces County District Attorney’s Office, and any other law enforcement agency when appropriate.
