The City of Corpus Christi will continuously improve the City Website to ensure accessibility . The Communications, Media Relations and eGovernment Department, responsible for development and management of the City Website, works closely with the Department of Human Relations to plan and identify improvement opportunities, which are included in the City's ADA Title II Comprehensive Evaluation and Transition Plan. We have worked with the Department of Human Relations and the City's Committee for Persons with Disabilities to conduct hands-on review of our site to identify any blocks . To report any problems in usage of the site or other accessibility, please use the " Citizen Accessibility Form." You also can contact the Customer Service Center. The Relay Texas site provides assistance regarding use of TDD equipment.
Corpus Christi Libraries have Accessible Resource Centers at branches in the City with computers and special software for people with hearing, visual and other disabilities.
The City website uses BrowseAloud , a free downloadable program that reads web pages out loud. This enables people who have difficulty reading online (from mild visual disabilities, limited literacy skills, dyslexia, or language needs) to better utilize web content. BrowseAloud uses accessibility techniques to access and speak content from websites.

Goals for accessibility features include compatibility with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), including periodic testing. The City's content management system has built-in accessibility components.
The City of Corpus Christi currently is in the process of transitioning to a new content management system for website development. The City is using this as a time to review and improve web files, forms, pages and online services for website content accessibility, following WCAG 2.0 standards. This includes staff training, updated web policies and a variety of evaluation tools..
