-
- We are excited to introduce a new logo to represent the department!
-
- As you may agree with a quick review of our program guides and our website, the Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide-variety of programs and services. It would be impossible to include all in a logo symbol, so we narrowed it down to focus on three key elements.
-
- The WATER represents the department’s efforts to promote, protect and provide access to one of Corpus Christi’s most unique resources. Along with nine pools, the department maintains and guards portions of the Gulf Beach on North Padre Island during spring and summer, as well as maintains McGee Beach and Corpus Christi Beach year-round which are a short distances from our downtown along the Corpus Christi Bay. The LEAF represents the department’s green spaces, natural areas and efforts to reconnect youth and families with the outdoors. The INDIVIDUAL represents our community’s most valuable resource—its PEOPLE. The figure does not discriminate, it could be a child or adult and any ethnicity. It indicates that we are a colorful people. It represents our department’s motivation for providing a myriad of programs, services and activities, for protecting our natural resources and open spaces, and for developing new areas and places for youth and families to connect and belong. The department promotes a healthy and active lifestyle through recreational, nutritional, social, cultural and entertainment programs offered year-round. We invite you to visit www.ccparkandrec.com for more information.

- This image better reflects our department’s programs, services and facilities and provides us with a new opportunity to market our department to residents and visitors alike.
-
- DID YOU KNOW? Surveys indicate that parks are very important to residents and visitors—they enrich the quality of life and are a critical factor which impacts our city’s economic development. It impacts the decisions of individuals and families regarding where to live, work and play, as well as to attract visitors to our area, and equally important to appeal to good companies which bring jobs to Corpus Christi. Surveys also show that our beaches are the number one reason people visit our City, so to depict it on our logo illustrates our uniqueness and our top marketing point. The department logo will help promote these factors.
