“Naval Aviation Art Exhibit”

Corpus Christi International Airport 

June 1–November 30, 2009

The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department, Corpus Christi International Airport and Chief of Naval Air Training are hosting a Naval Aviation exhibit with artwork of current U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

The art exhibit is being coordinated by Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA) based at NAS Corpus Christi. CNATRA took its roots in Corpus Christi in 1938 and has been training the finest aviators in the world ever since. Composed of five Training Air Wings located at Naval Air Stations in Florida, Mississippi and Texas, and training nearly 2,000 aviators each year, the air wings are home to 17 Training Squadrons. In addition, joint training is also conducted with the Air Force on bases in Texas, Oklahoma and Georgia.

The artwork being displayed comes from photographic archives from CNATRA and DoD collections as well as personal collections.
