The City of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide range of recreational activities for all age groups. Activities include swimming, tennis, golf, skateboarding, martial arts, sports, arts & crafts, and seminars on various topics.
For a sampling of the cultural experience and entertainment, there are special events, dances, art exhibits, festivals, cooking demonstrations, summer concerts in the parks, and so much more.
- After school and summer camp programs provide organized, supervised recreation environments for youth—a welcomed alternative to working parents. Community centers are open campuses that offer a variety of classes and events.
Programs designed for persons 50+ offer nutrition, recreation, volunteer, and social services.
Our city’s downtown marina is a major focal point which offers a full range of services to local residents, tourists and boaters. A variety of activities and special events including the longest running sailing regatta, international boat shows, fishing, power boat races, boat parades, fireworks, water toys, sailing classes, and more.
It’s easy to plan an outing or picnic with your family and friends with over 200 parks throughout the city.
And it’s not summer without a day at the beach. The climate is ideal for activities year-round like beachcombing, sunbathing, or simply relaxing.
All department facilities are also available for rentals. Accommodations are fitting for business meetings, sports, parties, family reunions, weddings, and other special events.
